Week 7

Due to the development of the internet and new communication technology, cultural borders have been taken down. Although the U.S is still the dominant force in hegemony, we see more cultures from different countries influencing the U.S. I think the recent rise in international studies play a key role in globalization. in 2015, there were 85% more international students enrolled in American universities than there were in 2005. These students bring with them their culture, interests, and hobbies and share them with their American counterparts. In the past, there was a strong "west is best" mindset. I think that the recent trend in globalization is a great way for the U.S to be exposed to other ethnic cultures and be more open minded to other people. I for one, have made lots of friends with international students during my time at UC Davis. I learned an incredible amount of things from these students of different countries and cultures that I otherwise would not have ever learned.

What are the disadvantages of globalization
