Week 8
"Love, Money, Prison, Sin, Revenge" by Andrew Lam depicts a horrid scene of three Vietnamese brothers who attacked an electronics store and took hostages. It troubles me to see how there is so much violence in our society still and the author refers back to the Vietnam War. There are different ideals in the United States compared to other countries around the world and these young men thought they were pleasing their father. It is difficult to transition from one state of mind to another and the author explains his difficulties with that. I feel that the different ways we were brought up creates a sense of uniqueness to society and no one should judge one another. Why then do people call those who immigrated to America the "losers" even though this is not a game?
