Angry Little Asian Girl is a web comic I can relate to quite a bit. Although I don't reach ALAG's level of anger at certain things, I can definitely say I have been frustrated over certain situations, such as having strict parents who often nag over the smallest issues. In the image below, Kim, the Angry Little Asian Girl, is depicted as sarcastic and a bit rude, which breaks stereotypes of Asians being docile and polite. Kim's character adds to the spectrum of Asian American personalities. All of these comics approach issues that Asian Americans face by portraying Kim as a person who grumbles and feels angry, just like everyone else.
Aside from the comics themselves, the creator, Lela Lee, has recently been involved with a legal case. She sued Phil Yu and Wendy Xu, the authors of blogs "Angry Asian Man" and "Angry Girl Comics," respectively. She argued that they were using her trademarked "Angry Asian" name. Although many people were supporters of Lela Lee, they have cited her evidences as inadequate. In addition, this kind of conflict within the Asian American community is weakening its ability to unite against the forces it should actually oppose.
Question: Do you think the internet has enough room for more than one Angry Asian?
