In the article “Why Chinese Mother Are Superior” Amy Chua explains the different teaching style between Chinese parents and Western parents. Western parents more encourage their children to enjoy the life and find their own interests, while Chinese parents more prefer their children to have a better score and to learn more skills.

In my opinion, the reason Chinese parents are so strict is the environment of China. Every family will sends their children to learn writing, piano, swimming and etc when their children are very young. If you let your children just play in the park when they are young, you will find out that your children cannot chase up other children when they go to the primary school. Every child around you is so hard working, and if you do not work hard as well, you will be considered as “bad child”. Western parents teach their children to follow their interests, while Chinese parents teach their children to work hard and gain a rich and happy life when they grow up.
