Expectations

Daniel Lum
Week 10
Section 2

In response to "Angry Little Girl"...

I'm going to assume that most of the people who are responding to these comments are siding with the child so I will side with the mother. Setting standards for your children is extremely important. As a child growing up, you are creating your own philosophy on everything including morals, and work ethic. Ensuring high standards in everything you do (this includes appearance, school, socially, etc.) is something that is taught and is not genetic. Setting a child up to have high standards in every aspect is something that they may hate in the moment but will be understood when they are older. The first commit comes off mean and is mean but it does cause the child to strive to improver her outward appearance. (I do not believe this is the best way but in an asian family, family is extremely important and this insult does not make the child think the mom does not lover her.)

My question: If you change the tone made by the parent in each comic, does the comic just show good parenting?
