Love, Money, Prison, Sin, Revenge

Yin He
week 8
section 1

From the article, “Love, Money, Prison, Sin, Revenge” by Andrew Lam, we got the different ideas about the Asian immigrants. After the war, the immigrants from the “lose” country might have more difficult. The later generation of American-born Asians tried to get into the new life style, they tried to be one of the part of Americans. “To grow up Vietnamese in America, after all, is to grow up with the legacy of belong to the loser’s side and to endure all that entails.” The war was end. And how about the affection from the war? “Loser” became a name tap for all the people from that country. And “revenge” became the knowledge for all of them. They tried to be the part of Americans. In the meanwhile, they wanted to be the people of their home country. Is really hard to help and accept the people from the other country? Is really hard to get rid of the idea of winner and loser?
Question: What can we do to minimize the problems we had for the immigrants?
