Nowadays the spread of information is instant, and staying up to date with one's home country is easier than ever. I found it interesting how Korean TV dramas remain a cultural connection for many South East and East Asian-Americans and even many Americans today. I wonder if the increased interest in Korean pop culture will help bridge American and Korean societies in the future. The idea of being "Conditionally American" made me wonder just how much culture facilitates our interactions with each other, or in adversely, cultural differences prevent our interactions with each other . Of the three generations described in the article "Korean American Youth and Transnational Flows of Popular Cultures across the Pacific", the US-born generation, the 1.5 generation, and the international students (yuhaksaeng) generation, I wonder how much the more Americanized groups maintain connection with their family's home country, and which disseminate Korean culture into American society most. My question is, what places in Davis serve as the "cultural hubs" for their respective Asian American groups?
