Week 7

               The following picture is a Chinese newspaper in the US. As I know, there are several Chinese newspaper which are written by completely Chinese. So, more and more connection have been made today between china and the US. This is just an example. From this week’s reading, I learned many information about integration of culture. Now, we can see the Korean pop culture everywhere in the US; we can see the best Hollywood movie in China. And, of course, the main media of this culture integration is Asian American and our international students. Because of the hybrid background, we can easily accept both cultures.

               I hope that Asian American and international students, including me, are able to become a bridge between eastern culture and western culture. There are lots of conflicts and discrimination between eastern and western countries due to culture difference. Those differences have existed for a long time because no one can interpret those culture well, and people from each side cannot understand others, which might finally leads to fight or discrimination. Because of the specialty of back ground, Asian American could easily accept and understand eastern culture. I hope that they can give an appropriate and real interpretation to western people. With a better understanding, a friendly relationship can be built more easily.
