In Andrew Thi’s article “I am a man with a heart,” it was interesting to read about his story from his childhood to his adolescence. Although he did well in school, it was unfortunate how he also chose to commit acts of crime. From the story, it was clear that Andrew was passionate about learning since he liked to work hard in his studies. I heard of a couple of people from my school who decided to quit school and continue to do illegal acts. After learning in lecture about the 1996 law which deported legal immigrants, it was a new experience to read about it from an immigrant’s perspective on the subject. It was very touching to see how much Andrew’s family were willing to help even if Andrew made multiple mistakes in his life. The bond of family was strong enough to show Andrew the amount of love from his family, which I believe to be one of the main factors keeping him from continuing his life of crimes.

Question: In the ending, it was not clear what Andrew will decide to do once his two months left in the halfway house is over. What do you think Andrew will do with his life after his time in the halfway house is done?
