The article by Amy Chua titled "Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior" was almost comical in the way the author was so engrossed in her own viewpoint and wholly ignorant of other methods that may be just as valid. Just because Amy was ultimately satisfied in the way her children ended up does not make her method or the method of Tiger Mom's the singular right way. If anything, Amy's success demonstrates one instance in which being a Tiger Mom was beneficial and at the same time it could be argued that Amy believes she is successful partly because she believes in the methodology and system. Amy fails to provide any evidence apart from anecdotal evidence which would not stand in any serious research paper. This article's purpose to me is simply to entertain or attract attention with a catchy, eye-grabbing title but not to provide any meaningful incite into the machinations of raising children. Is there a numerical means of rating the methods of raising children? Or is it simply whatever each individual circumstance requires?
