In Response to: THE DREAM IS OVER: LENONO AND THE DEATH OF THE ASIAN AMERICAN MOVEMENT

This reading was primarily talking about John Lenon, his death, his wife, and his political days.  I think that this article was interesting because it showed the side of Lenon that is usually not talked about in the history books.  Upon reading the article, I saw it as his wife was using him for her own ideas to help create the Asian American Movement started.  She would make John the catalyst to show his fans the importance of cultural and political change.  While it is true that Asian Americans are underrepresented in the history books regarding their struggles- since African Americans and even Chicanos are given more representation about their history than Asian Americans.  While Yoko Ono’s intentions were for the right purpose, I can see why some people thought that she manipulated Lenon.  If it wasn’t for her, Lenon wouldn’t have been put on Nixon’s list.  I see this as a way to show the extent the type of power that the government actually has over the population.  They have a lot of under the radar- government officials that the public does not know about and that is why many people speculated suspicion over Lenon’s murder.  I think that this “suspected” “target killing” on John Lenon was used as a way to shut down the ideas of Yoko Ono as well.

What other possible “target” killings have there been?
