In the article, “Korean American Youth and Transnational Flows of Popular Culture across the Pacific”, the author, Jung-Sun Park, argues that Asian American youth play important roles in the “transnational circulation of products, information and people”. The author especially concerns about Korean Americans groups in the article. I would strongly agree she’s opinion, which states that foreign culture, such as Korean pop culture, increasing influence United States right now. During these years in U.S, I strongly felt that U.S society is deeply affected by Asian culture. For example Korean foods, K-pop songs and K-pop idols are very popular here. I am one of those k-pop fans. Their songs and dances are really attractive. Many of my American friends are also crazy about them. When these Korean stars held concerts in U.S, sometimes it is even hard to get a ticket. In uc davis, there is also a very popular k-pop dance group called SoNE1. As the article said, those consumptions of homeland culture among not only recent immigrants, but also immigrants descendants. The kids of immigrants were affected by their parents or relatives when they grew up. Therefore, those second or third generation youth play vital roles in disseminating and mediating culture information to United States. In this way, American society is becoming more diverse and I think we will see more Asian elements in this society in the future.

Question:

Will U.S people mind those culture influences if there are too much cultures elements from another countries?
