The Imperial University brings up the connection between the nation-state and Universities. Universities are studying such immoral ways to use science for the military, and that should not be the case. There should be an emphasis on bettering the world, rather than trying to maintain control over slowly decaying pieces of land. After reading, it seems increasingly difficult to divest from prisons and the military. Only people with access to higher education have the ability to see how corrupt the system is, because it’s difficult to understand the complex systems that interconnect to keep the repressed people repressed. Being silent about these issues for personal gain and upward mobility is immoral. It’s easy to be complacent with being “fine,” but a lot harder to risk the comfortability of ones’ own life.

Question: How does one make others, who are blinded and only see the shadows, see the severity of the position the world finds itself in?
