Qiao Zheng

Week 5

From the article, From Saigon to Baghdad: The Vietnam Syndrome, the Iraq War and American Foreign Policy, the author gives the fact of the parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. It is really interesting for me. As we all know, The United State of American is the super power of both economic and military in the world. Also, the U.S. government wants to be the justice police of the world, which is the important foreign policy. However, the shadow of distrust and disillusionment always followed US military involvement from Vietnam to Iran-Contra to Iraq to Syria because the military power of American is so strong that injustice turns into justice.  At the same time, when China did the similar thing in South China Sea, American censure Chinese government that China broke the rules which American has never complied with. In this case, not for only U.S. or China, all the powerful countries can do the same thing.

So the question comes out: Can the power twist the justice? How can we avoid it?
