Week2 A01
It seems to many that race in America is only white and black. In history, the Civil Rights Era is depicted only as a struggle for African American rights, completely blindsiding the other minorites that have also participated. Currently, there is a group called Black Lives Matter and they made headlines protesting the deaths of African Americans, who became the target of institutional racism, in the form of police brutality. So where do Asian Americans fit into this equation? As another minority group,we need to understand that the current issue is aimed at African American and we must stand in solidarity to enforce change in the society. We cannot be shouting: "What about us?" when there is a real and dangerous problem in front of us.
