Fight the Tower Manifesto gave me a closer view of the women of color in academia. Before taking this class or reading materials about this topic, it was kind of alien to me. However, think carefully, there are the same situation in my country --- China. Therefore, bias in women of color in academia is a controversially topic in many countries even in the whole world. In the manifesto, it said, “we are perceived as easy targets for discrimination and dismissal based on these assumptions.” The women of color in academia are often humiliated or being treated unfairly just because of their social construction, including sex, color, race etc. Connecting with experience of Prof. Valverde, obstacles that women of color would face in academia would be huge rocks in their lives. They need incredible strengths and strong psychological line of defense. I am really admired those women who are dare to hold on their goals or dreams under such social pressures. I would also like to join them to fight the tower.

Question: From a longer-term perspective, how is it possible to escape from these prejudices or lessen their impact?
