Blog 2 | C. Nguyen (Section 1)

The UC Davis student profile is interesting for me to look at again after used to working at the Student Recruitment and Retention Center. The first time I saw these numbers, the percentage of underrepresented students were much higher. It has been four years since then and the numbers have only grown worse. I am starting to wonder if money from the students fees actually go into student services. With all of these new initiatives created to encourage more students of ethnic minority to apply, it would make sense for admin to invest in retention services. If students do not feel like they can actually succeed due to a lack of resources, they will dropout/leave.

Q: How can we get our administration to invest more in underrepresented students?
