After reading about the Berkeley Free Speech Movement, I initially related it to UC Davis' pepper spray incident. I thought that it was interesting to see a similar story between the two protests and I believe that moments like those it is important to realize that strength really does come in numbers, Upon reading more through the article, I remembered something that I had learned before and I recalled the Tiananmen Square Protests. While these protests were a little bit more violent than that of UC Davis and Berkeley, I found it interesting that the majority of protesters at Tiananmen Square were university students as well. I think that it is important for young people to rally together because it shows that young people do care about the issues and are just as willing enough to fight for something that they believe in. These protests may have happened in China but the message spread all over the world. How do these student protests make a difference in movements?
