In “Empire of Death and the Plague of Civic Violence”, the author describes various violent crime. And these crime such as serial murder and mass murder, were not simply because of anger or revenge, but some social and psychological problems. The possible reasons are problems associated with the development of society and historical forces. The part that I pay attention to is the race murder. After the race wars in Vietnam, the proportion of Asian Americans in the overall victims of serial murder and mass murder suddenly increased. It is reasonable to assume that the war in Vietnam caused impact to the society more or less. I understand that solders or people engaged in the wars suffered terrible and unforgettable experience which led to emotional trauma. But the government should take this problem seriously and arrange mandatory treatment for every one of them to prevent potential psychological problems. Maybe the hate toward the enemy in the war mistakenly vented to innocent people only because they are same race as the enemy. And some uncontrollable behavior leads to crime.

Question: The Vietnam War does influence race murder, but is it the most important reason? How many proportion that the criminals themselves intend to commit a crime no matter there was a war or not?
