ASA 2 - Section 3

In Professor Valverde's article, "Fight the Tower: A Call to Action for Women of Color", she shares the struggles and challenges she faced and overcame with her battle against corrupt education for her tenure. Her experiences shine light on the problems south East Asian and women of minority face within the school walls. Her analogy of students to customers and the school boards to CEOs is strikingly disturbing as it can be seen how the school environment for faculty has changed dramatically for female minorities. I am amazed with the difficulties Professor Valverde faced and am glad that at least someone with the experience can come back to lead this fight for all women of color. How many other women of color have faced those same struggles but have kept quiet?
