I remember reading about the patriot act in my high school government class. I don’t think that the government has the right to monitor our every act without a warrant or a legitimate reason to do so. After the 9/11 incident the government security everywhere got more strict nationwide. I understand that this is for our own “protection” but is it really? Especially for the reason that if we were to be indicted without trial. That violates our rights and takes away the power from the people. This new totalitarianism system isn’t just used for “protecting” our country but as a tool to target citizens such as minorities.

What are other methods that can be done to deal with terrorist acts without having to give up the people’s rights? What are the pros of these methods? What are the cons? Compare your method to events that occurred with the Patriot Act.
