Response #7 to “I am a Man With a Heart” by Andrew Thi
This article talks about Andrew Thi, who immigrated from
Cambodia to the US to escape the harsh conditions in Cambodia. Reading this article,
I was surprised by the fact that Thi was a very smart individual who does well
in school academically yet at the same time also commits so many theft crimes
due to influence from his peers. It made me wonder if Thi had any mental
related issues that would cause him to carry out such crimes. I also find it
interesting about how he talks about how God has worked in his life, such as
how God has placed Thi in the situations that he has gone through and how he
cannot thank God enough for that.
Question: How would you think Thi’s life would be different if
he hadn’t committed theft? Do you think that he would be the same person that
he is today?
