Mineta's Story: Insidious Racial Manipulation and the Aluminade

Chapter 9 of Dr. Hamamoto's book Servitors of Empire: Studies in the Dark Side of Asian America, "Ethnic Cover: Inquiry Into Norman Yoshio Mineta and Post-Racial Profiling" details the apparent fallacy of the presence of individuals of color in high governmental positions as movement towards racial equality. He disqualifies this by discussing to some detail how several high-profile Japanese American individuals such as Norman Mineta (especially focusing on Mineta) and their origins in a socializing perspective of how the Japanese American internment during World War II affected their political stances. This is a complex piece that delves into (as the book title states) the "dark side" of Japanese American politics. It highly implies the perspective that minorities such as Japanese Americans, portrayed as "former victims", are used to pacify any minority-targeting action as being "OK". Hamamoto does successfully reveal this straw man, but begins to diverge from his concise and accurate claims towards the end by stating his belief in a rising "new world order." This statement, while entirely arguable, is not given sufficient build-up in the text and instead relates the single example of 9/11 and Mineta's development and posting in his position in the DOT to a nefarious rise of a trend to an ultimate supercorporation power structure. While his evidence is shocking and disturbing, his broad and incompletely supported claims at the end ruin the compelling and developed argument before it. From an engineering perspective, just because the data is successfully fit to an equation of two or three variables does not mean that it is correct or even reasonably accurate.

Question: How can these readings discuss and condemn propaganda if they themselves are filled with their own propaganda?

This image represents how the people of the world should stand up to the risk of a New World Order as Professor Hamamoto foretells. The Aluminade may yet rise to overcome society as we know it.
