Can you hear me now? Uh oh.

Wiretapping has always appeared to the public as some sort of urban myth. There are so many people in the United States, how could the government tap all of our phones and check all of our emails, even the "make your penis grow longer in 2 weeks!" ones. Well the Patriot Act is the breaking point to this urban myth becoming a reality. Though I had heard previously about the government tapping our phones without permission, the Patriot Act makes it legal and as a corollary, makes any evidence gathered admissible in court. Essentially what this law makes legal is the ability to spy on someone and then arrest them for it and potentially convict someone. This law is the death of the freedom of speech amendment and people aren't voting against it. Very few are contacting their local politicians and as a result, the law slides through. What I want to know is, how do you create activisim in those who don't care?
