Is successful in military the best for Americans?

Section 1
Week 5

The article "Empire of Death and Plague of Civic Violence," written by Hamamoto, discusses that wars actually bring negative influence to our society. Nevertheless winning wars constantly has raised United States’ public image, our nation has made some many sacrifices. Behind the light of glory, there are many problems that Americans need to face. For example, soldiers could not get back to their original life after coming back from wars. It is hard for them to adjust since they have been taught that it is glorious to use force and violent to get what they want. Unfortunately, this set of thinking does not fit in our normal living, and soldiers have begun to develop a sense of helplessness and hatred as time passes. They end up making wrongful decision and hurt innocent people. Many female Asian American have become sexual victims. Some victims may pass through the hardship while others take revenge back. Some victims ascribe this to be the society’s fault and harm others who are innocent. As a result, more and more people get involved into this tragedy.

Being an Asian female, I view this problem seriously and think that this problem needs to be resolved immediately. After reading this article I worry about my own safety and take compassion on those innocent victims. I realize that I am actually living in a place that is full of threat, and I may become the next victim, which made me very uncomfortable. Yet it is so great to have such a wonderful repetition worldwide, no single individual should become the victim of politic. All people deserve response and are full of value. Hopefully, our nation can recognize the negative influences and the need of changing quickly. Let’s make our nation number one in safety instead of number one in military. In this instance, United States can be a safe and repetitive nation.
Question: Besides military achievements, could United States maintain its successful repetition worldwide in other fields?
