Article: Empire of Death and the Plague of Civic Violence

Ever since joining this course, I have more and more ideas of institutionalized biases. I was most enraged by the reaction of police when the Laotian American Konerak Sinthasomphone was running from Dahmer. How could they have allowed Sinthasomphone to go back to Dahmer just because he is a person of color. How could they have assumed that the "Intoxicated Asian, naked male, was returned to his boyfriend." And how can we have a system of justice and protection when these biases or perceptions of certain communities exist. (Like the LBGTQIA community or the Asian community).

My question is :how can we change the biases or educate our justice system so that these biases don't exist?

I want the police to be a system where people are not profiled and everyone is given the safe amount of safety and protection.
