The lie of the "model minority" stereotype

The statistics really shocked me when I was reading "Complicating the Image of Model Minority Success".  Hmong Americans have the lowest per capita income of any ethnic group in to 2000 census - at an average of 6,613 per capita.  The average for the US population is ~3x higher at 21,000.  Other southeast Asian Americans had awful statistics as well (including Cambodian, Lao, Vietnamese Americans).  The stats for Latino Americans and African Americans were similarly bad.  Some Southeast Asians had terrible scores for "people 25+ with a bachelor's or higher" - less than 10%, as opposed to all asian americans at ~42%.  There's clearly a huge discrepancy in education between general asian americans vs. southeast asians.  One factor that the article discusses is that southeast asians often came to the US as refugees, as opposed to immigrants (as from other asian countries). My question is - what are the education distributions of southeast asian immigrants?
