Student Admissions Blog 1

This article mentioned about how Asian parents are now worried their children will not be able to receive the equal rights for competing with teens in other races while applying for public universities in California. Since 1996, the state has banned considering race, ethnicity, or gender in hiring, or admissions to public institutions of educations. But as the population of Asian ethnicity has grown rapidly in most of the public institutions due to how education is highly valued in Asian community, now the states is trying to pass the proposal in order to bring the percentage of Asian students in public universities down to the same as the total Asian population in the California, which is going from 30% to about 14%. This means more than half of the Asian ethnicity students will lose their rights to be equally admitted into public universities once the proposal is officially passed.

Question: Where will these students be going to school at once their spots in public universities are taken, will private school provide the enrollment and the same amount of benefit as public educations?
