As I was reading this article, I have completely agreed with how the writer says through the limited amount of female Asian-American actresses leading some current major television shows, many of the them are still categorized as the typical asian stereotype's character. A typical Asian woman is usually known as the high-achieving, socially awkward, nerdy and lethal, which can possibly plant the wrong information into people in other races. There is no specific race or gender inherently gain a particular talent or ability, and their characteristics will not be the same all the time. For example, Nikita starred by Maggie Q was known as a high-achieving woman who was a well trained assassin and socially awkward, and Christina Yang by Sandra Oh is also known as a hyper competitive and socially awkward doctor. All of these stereotypes will end up giving the audiences the false impression of Asian woman.
Question: How does stereotype effect us (as Asian woman) in daily life other than education?
