Everyone gets caught up in their own lives that they forget to stop and look at what is happening around them both locally and around the world. Every day the media is filled with stories that may range from minute things such as local crimes and events to major life impacting events like wars. Some times the media becomes too focused on one subject and neglect many other events around the world. A current example was during the time of Justin Bieber's arrest and the media ignored all the events of protest and revolution around the world. Ukraine was an untouched subject until Russia formally announced their intents to annex a section of the nation. The media can be seen from both sides that paint each sides in their favor. Russia calls their opposition "terrorists" whereas the Ukraine-supporters call themselves "protesters," against the Russian-invasion.
The world is becoming different in that lines between races are becoming more blurred as mixed races are becoming more common place. However human history has shown repeatedly that class division and abuse has always been apparent and will probably never be eliminated ever. Just because the current day minority in America has a livable wage and decent standard of living doesn't mean people of similar races are not being abused. This is ever more apparent when looking at the "developing" nations wherein large corporations are sourcing their manufacturing. The steadily declining environment of China is pronounced.
When will civil rights expand from the current country and onto the global scale?
