The Matter of Race

Response to "Race still matters."

Among many important statistics and points in this picture, the fact that $733 more is spent per student in 90% white schools than in 90% non-white schools stood out to me the most. I found it interesting to consider this financial detail because it made me wonder if this had anything to do with racial discrimination or if it was just about the geographical location of the schools. Since there wasn't much information about the geographic locations of the schools, it made me question if this information was just received from places where the white schools were located in wealthier areas and from places where non-white schools were located in poorer areas. The issue of race is a sensitive subject, but I feel this picture did not give enough information about the schools that this picture was created by.

Question: Will race ever NOT matter?
