Response # 2: Women of Color in Academia Manifesto
The injustices that women of color have to face in academia in the present time shows that meritocracy in academia is neglected as well-educated women face discrimination in the work force. The fact that discrimination garnered towards women of color in academia still exists is appalling, as women worked endlessly and fought hard to get where they stand. The endurances that they have to tolerate demonstrates injustice for women of color in their work force. It also demonstrates corruption that exists in the education system. What is the reason that women have to continuously tolerate discrimination? How much longer do women of color have to endure discrimination in the work force? Why is women of color still enduring these injustices when we live in a nation that promotes equality for all?
