Week 8

In the time we live in, Asians are quickly gaining the race majority. There are more asians ever to be on Earth. “What Asian Americans Are Bringing to Campus Movements for Racial Justice,” Mark Tseng-Putterman talks about asian Americans place in society. He says that asian Americans aren't truly in the minority anymore and individuals are tasked with either bringing up advocacy for asians, supporting black people for their rights, or nothing. I find it true that Asian Americans aren't classified in the minority group technically due to not having history of advocacy. Individuals find that they are still exiled in schools. Looking at students' in low percentage of asian populations, find that they don't belong, and I personally coming, from a large white populated area, Colorado natives such as I am not exiled but not exactly viewed the same. I definitely see a curtain or some exclusion when it came to my white dominated school as well. With this being said I definitely see advocacy and movements for asians Americans as a thing that is real and needed. I see Asian Amercians with the call to action to greater the advocacy or help with other movements with African Americans, individuals shouldn't do nothing or change won't happen.

Are Asian Americans mistreated in our education system?
