After reading “‘The Time to Fight is Now’: When Asian American Women in Academia Go Rogue” by Professor Kieu-Linh Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis, making me remind the Asian American girl Canwen Xu who was a TEDx speaker. In her speech, she talked about the race and ethnic issues that Asian American struggling and how to breaking stereotypes and reaffirming stereotypes. After losing herself at a young age, Canwen learned to reflect on her Asian identity, fading away from the horrors and anxieties of that year, and was proud of her identity
Question:
What is model minority? How is model minority effect to the female Asian American?
