week 9 Thomas Tran A01

In the article "Why Ferguson Matters to Asian Americans" by Soya Jung she explains the murder of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Later, she asked whether this incident is significant and if it matters to Asian Americans. She understands that the need to protect and express the rage that is apart of the identities of Asian Americans. The article after discusses how Asian American deaths are invisible to the public eye because they get little to no attention. I believe that this is a huge problem for the reason that an individual's death is shielded from the public if it does not follow the format of the model minority. There is no news regarding Asian Americans in the media and we are seen as the border line between black and white. Therefore, in this frame we receive no recognition or attention to our issues.

What can we do to change this invisibility among Asian Americans?
