After reading "Why Ferguson Matters to Asian Americans," it made me wonder why minorities are so divided and separated. We are all people of color, and yet, we all think differently and only (for the most part) support our specific minority group. Asian Americans were pushed into the norm of being the model minority. It was displayed in the media such as movies, tv shows, social media platforms, etc. In my opinion, Asian American prided themselves for being the model minority that we often do not associate ourselves with other minorities. However, Asian Americans, like any other minority, has a huge spectrum. Not every Asian American is smart. Not every Asian American is poor. There is mixture of everyone in the pot that we call Asian Americans. So, why the separation? In my opinion, it is time to think pass racial stereotypes and think of working together in order to bring a greater society. There is no time for judgement when there is time for progression.
Question: What can we do about Asian American from learning about anti-blackness?
