Week 9 - Gerald Malvin

As I read this week's article, "Why Ferguson Matters to Asian-Americans", I find it discussing a similar topic to what I have read for this class before. In the article, the author, Soya Jung, discusses how Asian-Americans often times are not regarded in the community. It is as if the community is separated to either the "whites" or the "blacks". Soya discusses how she could feel sympathetic towards the rage of the black people and also encourages the idea of how Asian-Americans should also take a stance to have their voices heard. In my opinion, I do not believe so, because I do not believe that causing a rage would solve any problems, if any, increase the problems. I think that Asian-Americans have been underappreciated in the American community, and Asian-Americans are not known to voice out their opinions of injustice in public, choosing to remain quiet and giving the impression that they accept the fact that injustice will be a part of their daily lives.

Question: How can Asian-Americans voice out their opinions without causing a rage in public and cause problems?
