In this week's reading, "Mothering is liberation: Giving Birth to Alagaan Pedagogy", Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales talks about her doubts and concerns about being a good professor and being a good mother at the same time. she always asks herself whether shes doing enough and doing great to have both her career and family well. she mentioned three main shifts in which women—especially
mothers—are often bound or burdened to participate which are productive, reproductive, and community participation. sometimes, it is hard for women to deal with both career and family and this kind concept becomes a stereotype that woman can only stay at home and being a good housewife.
From the perspective of company management, the first thing to consider is the cost of personnel. Especially in the current environment, paid maternity leave, the two-child policy and even the call for a three-child policy will increase the cost of female employees. Women need to earn 20 to 30 percent less than their male counterparts in order to gain the same status as men. Very few companies will take the initiative to empower women and level the playing field. I'm not talking about women's rights, let alone women's boxing on the Internet.
