"No pain, No gain" is a timeless theory among human society. Especially when talking about career achievement, pain and effort is the crucial component of achieving success. However, if a person can get "pain" and "gain" at the same time, he/she may become more productive and motivated towards his/her ultimate goal. The theory of recieving "pain" and "gain" about teaching career is called "Pedagogical Praxis", which is "a form of experience-based and professional learning enables the students of teaching (the trainees) to develop their professional as well as personal competencies in cooperation with the teachers –trainers and the university teachers in the realistic conditions of the school praxis of the training schools.". Imagine how effective it will be if college students can practise their teaching abilities during their classes with their skillful professors. Although I am not a teaching major student, I find the concept of "Pedagogical Praxis" can be utilized in many majors. For instance, the biology and chemistry classes I took in previous quarters were always along with laboratory practise. Although some practises might not be closely related to exam materials, it provided a valuable opportunity for me to develop several lab skills. Considering the high chance of working in research field after graduation, those skills can effectively help me get prepared for my career challenge.
Considering benefits of practising and improving at the same time, "Pedagogical Praxis" is useful for not only academic fields, but many social issues. For example, when goveronment wants to proceed certain policy, it will first start to use the policy in a small amount of area. Based on the feedback, officials may adjust details about this policy and make it perfect as much as possible. However, after discussing about so many benifits of "Pedagogical Praxis", it brings a question to me "if there is any problem of this theory?"
