Shiting Yu A02 Week10

This week, I chose to read the article named "Conclusion: Academics Awaken: Power, Resistance, and Being Woke." which was written by Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis. It was so surprising to see my professor's name listed on the writer's side. I had been writing a blog since week one and this blog was the last one. In this way, I spent more time reading and analyzing this article.
This article mainly focuses on the conclusion that turning research into action and the creation of movements for change will make academia become a place of truth seeking and equitable teaching and learning one day. It's really important that the academia share the ideas among all groups of people instead of hearing one voice. I like the title of the chapter named "I Choose to Live for My People: On Surviving, Resisting and Thriving in Academia and Beyond. This represents the spirit and resiliency of many Asian American women scholars who live in the hostile environment of the academy.
Finally, It is not just a battle against the institution, but also associated with many other things including race, class, gender or anything that divides people into different groups. Every group of people should get same treatments in different areas. "To live for our people" also stands for "To fight the right for our people", it is associated with the better living quality and promotions for the Asian American women who have already been living in an abyss of suffering for a long time.
Question: How can we persuade others to take actions?
