Week 10 blog
According to the week 10 reading material“Conclusion: Academics Awaken:Power, Resistance, and Being Woke” written by Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis. According to the article, the author stated that“Fight the Tower con-tributors have dramatically, cogently, and fiercely unveiled important truths while offering actionable resistance. This conclusion focuses on turning research into action and the creation of movements for change through which academia may become a place of truth seeking and equitable teaching and learning.”After reading this book, I learned a lot about the inequality and discrimination of feamle professor in academia field. At the same time, I also learned that many professors have been pursuing the title of tenured professor for lifetime.
I think the academic community should be more inclusive，if everyone could help and communicate well with each other, the community of the academic field would be better . When we understand the injustice in the academic community, we should think how we can prevent the injustice and discrimiation from happening again. My question about this week reading material is What can we do to eliminate discrimination against different races and genders？
