This week, we read “Conclusion: Academic Awaken: Power, Resistance, and Being Woke” by Valverde and Dariotis, which is a conclusion of what we have spent our whole quarter to study for. According to all readings of this quarter, I think that the final goal for the minorities is to awake everyone and to pursue a equal world.
For white man, I just want to let you know: As an Asian American, our fight does not mean turning against white man, but we want to be treated as equal to white man. And this progress will lead to a better advance in academia world. Everyone in academia world can abandon themselves into scientific research and development but not worry about that they may be discriminated by others.
And for the minorities, we are not fighting for ourselves but for our language, our babies, even for all human beings, because racism or discrimination is actually a backward thinking which will lead the progress of our science much slower. Therefore, we should stand out to fight for that, to let the white people know that we are all human beings and we are all fighting for a more beautiful, advanced and better world. All in all, more awakening, sooner we can reach a equal and better world.
