Shirley Hune had written two articles which demonstrate the unfairness of women’s education, namely “Women of Color in Academia” and "Taking Action: Asian American Faculty against Injustices in the Academy". "Taking Action: Asian American Faculty against Injustices in the Academy" focuses on Asian-American female professors’ course evaluation, salary, and administrative positions.

I know this world exists inequality. Sometimes, men tend to be more preferable when seeking a job, no matter the HR is a man or women. However, I am surprised that there are also differences among women. Women in colored race had a hard situation at that time because of racial crimination. On the campus, students also have bias for them even though they offer high-quality classes. Thus, they always have a low rating for course evaluation. I think when students evaluate a professor’s course, they should focus on what the professor is teaching, how the professor is teaching and whether the professor take care of students. We should never over-focus on professor’s nation, gender, and ethnicity. Are those important? I think the answer should be no for students. We are students, and we are in university to learn knowledge. Professors guide us when we feel confused about what we learn. Therefore, a professor deserves a high course evaluation if he provides us with high-quality classes and takes care of all his students.

Though I am not a colored female professor, I am an Asian schoolgirl. Compared to what stated in the articles written by Shirley, I think the situation nowadays are much better. On campus, colored professors and students can be seen everywhere, yet, I feel that most people are friendly. Now, there is less discrimination, and I think what is more significant in the society is one’s capacity not ethnicity.

Question: In the article, did the government know that Asian American Women have the unfairness of education? Did they help Asian American women to solve problem of unfairness?
