“Killing Machine: Exposing the Health Threats to Asian American Women Scholars in Academia” reports discrimination to the colored women in academia causes serious health problems. It was believed that women have less ability than men and also people of color are not smarter than white. If we are asked that imagine a professor, most people must image a white man. People of color and women were excluded from the academic field, and if they are in an academic field, they always are doubted whether they have enough ability to work in the field. That will stress them and sometimes kills them. The poet “Who Killed Soek-Fang Sim?” tells the prejudices and pressures from the surroundings. That is not something happened in the past, it is happening today. Racists blame and oppress people of color, and injure them. We need to know discrimination can kill people by causing health issues, and also need to understand racism does not improve anything.

Today I see many Asian students and professors at a university, but the environment surrounding them is not so good. The new coronavirus recalls a serious racism and they are started to be avoided. We need to remind that racism can kill more people than the virus do.
Question: When will the racism completely disappear from the academic world?
