Discrimination, racism and inequality have already been present centuries ago. These have caused revolutions and war between different nations and cultures. Unfortunately, as seen in the articles, "Fight the Tower", even with the advancements of the modern world, humanity still have not addressed these oppressive issues. The readings have clearly narrated and exposed the reality that has long been happening to women with Asian blood or another ethnicity considered as “minority” in their workplace. These things are adding up to the regular stresses and administrative imperialism at work which leads to the health of the women being compromised.
The toxicity in the workplace and workload is affecting both the performance of the employees, but most importantly it is affecting their health and wellbeing. In addition, the administrative work is weighing on them in comparison to the job itself, in the effort to control the system. This results to the supposedly productive job to be bombarded with political issues and injustices.
The oppression towards gender and race in the workplace needs to be addressed because of the detrimental effects of these not just on the person himself, but also to the work environment and economic gains. The concept of model minority and bamboo ceiling are the ones which are preventing the skills and talent from helping out and merging with what is already present with the white people. Instead of improvement and collaboration for the betterment of the field and the community, degradation, isolation and separation are promoted.
