Be Brave to Fight for Yourselves

During this week of reading, I noticed that the author mentioned one of her experiences in Chapter 3. As a woman, when she wanted to be promoted as a professor in the school, a small group of people in charge of the Academic Affairs Office tried every means to prevent her from gaining her due status. They devalued her work and achievements, and repeatedly gave lower-level men a blow to her. When she wanted to complain about this oppression and discrimination in court, she didn't even favor her even a little. This is undoubtedly disappointing, but when I finished reading this story, I was very happy about her turning point in the future. All of this is due to her courage, which is the courage to dare to speak. The name of the third chapter is called "The Cost of Speaking," how much does it cost to speak? I haven't experienced it before I have stepped into the society. I only know that sometimes, you will pay your wealth because of your voice, your reputation may even be life.

So why do we insist on speaking? The reason is simple, that is, those evils should not be hidden, nor should they be borne alone by victims. The oppression in the workplace is the same, as is the oppression in life and in the family. I once paid attention to a statistic. For every eight women who have been sexually assaulted, only one is willing to speak out loudly about their experience and speed up the case. The malice of women in this society is sometimes unimaginable. When women speak of their shameful encounters, although this will increase the attention of others and help resolve the incident more quickly, on the other hand, public opinion and doubts in the society will also cause women to fall into their own denial again . We habitually call persecuted women the names of bad women, which is actually very funny. It is not them who are wrong, but the person who violated them. And women should also bravely stand up and fight for their own encounters. After all, there is no hope without resistance.

Question: What makes the world so malicious towards women?
