In this week's lecture, professor has talked about Asian women were usually taught to be quiet. I think it is a trend in Asian culture. Asian women are now more focusing on academic which is a good phenomenon but they would also ignore some oppression in academic area. "Census data from 2010 show 50% of Asian adults have earned at least a bachelor's degree, compared to 28% for all Americans, and 34% for non-Hispanic whites. Indian Americans have some of the highest education rates, with nearly 71% having attained at least a bachelor's degree in 2010." As the data states, Asian Americans generally have higher education level than other races in U.S. However, Asian Americans are not the richest in the society since they have faced too much discrimination in the society. In the political area, white people are still dominating that area and Asian Americans are not that powerful. They are defined as "bookworm" instead of "hard workers". These stereotypes are wrong but because Asians are taught to be quiet so there are many people stand up and fight against these stereotypes.
