Yi Yang A01 Week 3

In this week's reading, I gained a deeper understanding of "social engineering" programs in the United States and the oppression they bring. Education may seem to be the most liberal and critical ivory tower of today's society, but in fact academia is more of a social engineering that shapes and controls behavior. A common method of social engineering is to construct ideas, control laws and policies, and adjust the environment to try to control people's behavior and thoughts. There is a dark side to the seemingly glamorous world of academia.

Asian-American women are seen by academic administrators as the ideal representatives of diversity. They seem to be the privileged representatives of minority groups, but in fact they are oppressed by the academia. Asian American women scholars have made many outstanding contributions to American academia, but their achievements and position in academia are always limited. Asian-American women scholars are under more pressure in academia than we can imagine. University administrators just want them to be present but remain silent. It's time for Asian-American women scholars to wake up and take credit for their work. In this book, I will see how they challenge this system of social engineering and change their status quo of being oppressed.

Questions: In what other fields are Asian women oppressed and discriminated against besides academia?
