I was shocked a lot by this video. I had seen strike because of low income and unfair treats, but I never thought that students will do so because of they eager to learn ethnic and that makes me understand what ethnic study means for those people. In China there are also the presence of racism and discriminations. People of course hate that, but they hardly strike or do such aggressive things. Also, there are hardly ethic studies in Chinese high schools or universities. I do not have such sense of the importance of ethnic study until I watched this video. I see those students and teachers’ feeling and realized there are a lot work need to be down. As for ethnic study, it is quite important considering all the racism related problems in this society, and ethnic study has far more benefits than I used to thought. According to the article，”Three Reasons Why We NEED Ethnic Studies Courses” ethnic studies can help students find that they are reflected in the curriculum, and many of the color students will have better academic achievements after taking ethnic study courses. Moreover, those students who took ethnic study courses will have the sense to judge injustice in the society and can even fight to against them.
