After reading the "Fight the Tower: Women of Color in Academia Manifesto in Prologue: Taking Action: Asian American Faculty against Injustices in the Academy," I felt deeply that discrimination against Asian-Americans is ingrained. And it has happened when Asians people came to America. They can't get the same treatment as white people. Even in schools, there is discrimination against Asians. They pay the same taxes as everyone else, but they never get a fair shake. There's a consensus about Asian-Americans should study very well, because you're Asian. Usually, the academic requirements of Asian students are much higher than other students, like the SAT and GRE. This puzzled me, because no one is born to study well. We all rely on our efforts and perspiration for the results. if other people pay less than we are, but they get the same results as us. This will make us feel that our efforts are in vain. Since this's not fair.
In my opinion, racial discrimination should disappear from this world, because it will only make people hate each other more and make the distance between people become longer. Everyone has the right to live and should not be discriminated against by others. Even if people talk about equality, there is no real equality. Do not do to others what you do not want others to do to you. If everyone can do so, the problem of racial discrimination will be improved. We can't choose to born in which race, but a person's success is his efforts to obtain, if you respect yourself, then others will respect you! My question is why some people like to discriminate?
